Question Importing Address Book from Apple Mail

I haven't been moving mailboxes from Apple Mail (downloaded via POP) to Zimbra. I couldn't find a way to move the address book since Zimbra only takes CSV files and Apple Mail only exports to vCard. Is there a way to get around this and move the contacts over from Apple Mail?

    Thanks.

    Default Address Book Exporter

I have used this and it does export a file, but when I import in to Zimbra, it says zero contacts added. I know the data is there because it worked for my gMail acount.

Have a look at the wiki page titled "Import and Export" of contacts. What I've found is that you don't need every column that is listed there, and the columns don't have to be in the same order, but you do need a header line with column headings that exactly match the ones listed.

Also, you may want to check out the Apple Mail scripts found here. It is pretty flexible. If you have multiple Mail.app groups or address books it lets you select them individually. Also, you can select the fields that you want to export. Don't remember if it is the same program that jholder and phoenix gave the link for, but I remember trying one other program and it only exported name and email address. With this one that I've provided the link for, if you have phone numbers, job titles, etc. you won't lose them.

    Default Importing

I was able to export some of my contacts, but it didn't use any addresses. I have to figure out how to get that to work with the correct headers. At least with this version, I was able to get phone numbers and not just emails.

    Thanks and I'll keep trying!
