    Default Tomcat not starting - mailbox stopped

    Hi all,

    Have a problem starting Zimbra up.

    Code:
    zimbra@zimbra:/var/log$ zmcontrol status
            antispam                Running
            antivirus               Running
            imapproxy               Running
            ldap                    Running
            logger                  Running
            mailbox                 Stopped
                    tomcat is not running
            mta                     Running
            snmp                    Running
            spell                   Running
    I've had a look at the permissions on the redolog for tomcat and they are fine. Trawling through logs and can't seem to fine anything.

    Hello and welcome to the Zimbra forums.

    Did you enable IMAP/POP3 proxy? That's the most common cause of Tomcat not starting. You can fix this by running:
    su - zimbra
    zmperditionctl stop
    tomcat start

    login to the admin panel, and disable the IMAP proxy.

    If not, then please post your /opt/zimbra/tomcat/logs/catalina.out

    That did it, I'll have to dive into more why these services killed off tomcat. In the meantime i'll just disable them.

    Typically, you really don't need IMAP Proxy.
    Note that the IMAP service and IMAP Proxy are two different things.

    You only need IMAP Proxy if you have a multi-node setup.
