    Default [SOLVED] Edit Crontab

I want to edit the crontab to add hsm start. I was trying to use crontab -e and edit the cron but everytime I attempted to save to file it errored out.

What user are you when you try to edit it? That sounds like a permissions issue.

Try crontab -l > mycrontab and see if you are able to write files at all. . . For that matter, then you can edit the file mycrontab, save it, and do crontab mycrontab and it'll put the edited results into cron.

But if you can't write to file you're the wrong user. I would guess (hope) you have done "su - zimbra" first so you're doing this as the zimbra user? Or if you want this to be in another cron, just do it as root. . .

    Red face

I finally got it to go through late last night and it ran perfectly. Human error I guess. All is good. Thanks for the reply.
