No idea... I am having the same error on zmfixperms on a 4.5.6 install with Fedora 5. I currently have 4.5.6 working on Fedora 4 but am trying to test a move to a newer server with Zero luck so far.

I do have zimbra installed, services are up, but I had an error checking the queue...

Error msg with queue is, Message: system failure: exception during auth, which led me to Mail Queue Monitoring - Zimbra :: Wiki

The solution for troubleshooting the queue is to run zmfixperms, but that is not working correctly yet > When run as the user zimbra it just comes up with permission problems "Operation not permitted" or "Permission denied". When run as root, it errors with cannot access *perdition-1.17 - No such file or directory. The zmfixperms file is looking for perdition-1.17, but only 1.17.1 exists.

I am assuming zmfixperms needs to be run as root? If so, maybe there is an error in the zmfixperms script in the 4.5.6 FC5 build?

    Thats bug:
Bug 18599 - zmfixperms does not fix permissions for perdition

    Should be fixed in 457/8

Well, I finally got my install fixed...

Fixing the zmfixperms file did not solve the error in the message queue and I was unable to redo the sshauth keys. After repeated attempts at installs/uninstalls there was a bunch of junk in hidden folders at /opt/zimbra/.* I assumed the uninstaller would remove this stuff when removing /opt/zimbra

    [root@zmail opt]# rm -R zimbra
rm: descend into directory `zimbra'? yes
rm: descend into directory `zimbra/.ssh'? yes
rm: remove regular file `zimbra/.ssh/zimbra_identity.pub'? yes
rm: remove regular file `zimbra/.ssh/authorized_keys'? yes
rm: remove regular file `zimbra/.ssh/zimbra_identity'? yes
    rm: remove directory `zimbra/.ssh'? yes
rm: remove regular file `zimbra/.install_history'? yes
rm: remove regular file `zimbra/.bash_history'? yes
rm: descend into directory `zimbra/.saveconfig'? yes
rm: remove regular file `zimbra/.saveconfig/ca.key'? yes
rm: remove regular file `zimbra/.saveconfig/slapd.key'? y
rm: remove regular file `zimbra/.saveconfig/cacerts'? y
rm: remove regular file `zimbra/.saveconfig/keystore'? y
rm: remove regular file `zimbra/.saveconfig/smtpd.crt'? y
rm: remove regular file `zimbra/.saveconfig/smtpd.key'? y
rm: remove regular file `zimbra/.saveconfig/config.save'? y
rm: remove regular file `zimbra/.saveconfig/perdition.key'? y
rm: remove regular file `zimbra/.saveconfig/perdition.pem'? y
rm: remove regular file `zimbra/.saveconfig/ca.pem'? y
rm: remove regular file `zimbra/.saveconfig/slapd.crt'? y
    rm: remove directory `zimbra/.saveconfig'? y
    rm: remove directory `zimbra'? y

    Now the install worked correctly!
