    Default Forward Problem

    Hi All,
I'm using the OS version on FC4, and we are having this weird problem with forwarding emails to another mailbox internally or externally, it sends two copies of each email to the forward destination, what could be the cause for this?

    Many thanks,

    - Yang

    Default M1 or M2?

Are you on M1 or M2?

This was a problem with (IIRC) M1, fixed in M2.

    To fix this, edit /opt/zimbra/postfix/conf/master.cf

    There's a line that reads
    127.0.0.1:10025 inet n - n - - smtpd

with a bunch of (indented) -o... lines below it.

    Change
    -o receive_override_options=no_header_body_checks,no_ unknown_recipient_checks

    to

    -o receive_override_options=no_header_body_checks,no_ unknown_recipient_checks,no_address_mappings

(All one line, preserve indentation). THen, restart postfix (postfix stop; postfix start).

    That should solve this issue.

Default forwarding problem using OSS M3 on SLES9 box

my forwarding problem is a little bit different from Yang. Instead of sending two copies of each email to the forwarded recipient. the forwarded recipient will receive just a copy of the email. This is normal. However, a copy of the email is also left in the original email recipient as well.

That is, for example, an email was supposed to be sent from a@xyz.com to b@xyz.com. WIth the forwarding feature turned on the account of b@xyz.com and with the forwarded email address set to c@xyz.com on that account, any email sent to b@xyz.com is supposed to be automatically routed to c@xyz.com. The new M3 zimbra OSS version does that. Thiis is great, but it also leaves a copy of the email on the b@xyz.com as well. Is this a design issue or a bug issue ?

    any ideas ?

BTW, I'm running a zimbra OSS M3 version (released in Dec 05) on SLES9 box.

Currently to forward like this you'd need to change the LDAP delivery attr for that user. This is something you can do from the command line in the GA release. We plan to make this easier in the future.
