    Default disable indexing

it looks like a particular attachment type, whatever it is, is causing the convertd system to crash. Someone at zimbra answer to opened ticket suggesting "we need to disable indexing for this attachment type"
now i would disable indexing at all as none is using it and at this moment priority is on sending and receiving mails with attachments without indexing them
    Question is:
can how disable indexing at all? how can i do it?
    TIA
    Maurizio

i used this ldif to disable indexing for zipped attachments

    cat /tmp/zip-mime.ldif
    # application/zip, mime, config, zimbra
    dn: cn=application/zip,cn=mime,cn=config,cn=zimbra
    zimbraMimeType: application/zip
    cn: application/zip
    objectClass: zimbraMimeEntry
    zimbraMimeIndexingEnabled: FALSE
    zimbraMimeHandlerClass: DefaultHandler
    zimbraMimeFileExtension: zip
    description: Zip Compressed Document

    ldapadd -x -h `zmhostname` -D `zmlocalconfig -m nokey zimbra_ldap_userdn` \
    -w `zmlocalconfig -s -m nokey zimbra_ldap_password` \
    -f /tmp/zip-mime.ldif

seems ok; using ldapsearch i see:
    ldapsearch -x -h `zmhostname` -D `zmlocalconfig -m nokey zimbra_ldap_userdn` \
    -w `zmlocalconfig -s -m nokey zimbra_ldap_password` \
    "objectClass=zimbraMimeEntry"
    # extended LDIF

    # base <> with scope subtree
    # filter: objectClass=zimbraMimeEntry
    # requesting: ALL

    # all, mime, config, zimbra
    dn: cn=all,cn=mime,cn=config,cn=zimbra
    zimbraMimeType: all
    cn: all
    objectClass: zimbraMimeEntry
    zimbraMimeIndexingEnabled: TRUE
    zimbraMimeHandlerClass: DefaultHandler
    zimbraMimeHandlerExtension: convertd
    description: All Document

    # application/zip, mime, config, zimbra
    dn: cn=application/zip,cn=mime,cn=config,cn=zimbra
    zimbraMimeType: application/zip
    cn: application/zip
    objectClass: zimbraMimeEntry
    zimbraMimeIndexingEnabled: FALSE
    zimbraMimeHandlerClass: DefaultHandler
    zimbraMimeFileExtension: zip
    description: Zip Compressed Document

    # search result
    search: 2
    result: 0 Success

    # numResponses: 7
    # numEntries: 6

    Now...
    zipped files are STILL converted
what i note is that zip mime "application/zip" comes after zimbraMimeType: all

maybe this is the reason that convertd stiil take zipped attachments?

You don't mention whether you restarted Tomcat and the conversion process, did you?

yes i did as your collegue suggested to do:
    [new zimbra@mailz ~ ]$ bin/tomcat restart
    [new zimbra@mailz ~ ]$ bin/zmconvertctl stop
    [new zimbra@mailz ~ ]$ bin/zmconvertctl start

now i put at false all
    # all, mime, config, zimbra
    dn: cn=all,cn=mime,cn=config,cn=zimbra
    zimbraMimeType: all
    cn: all
    objectClass: zimbraMimeEntry
    zimbraMimeIndexingEnabled: FALSE
    zimbraMimeHandlerClass: DefaultHandler
    zimbraMimeHandlerExtension: convertd
    description: All Document
    ldapmodify -x -h [...] -f /tmp/all-mime.ldif
    modifying entry "cn=all,cn=mime,cn=config,cn=zimbra"

    [new zimbra@mailz ~ ]$ bin/tomcat restart
    [new zimbra@mailz ~ ]$ bin/zmconvertctl stop
    [new zimbra@mailz ~ ]$ bin/zmconvertctl start

let's see if zip attachments are stopped to be converted

    Bill,
putting to FALSE indexing for "all mime", the previous should be honored, isn't it?

I don't believe the order is relevant, I'd suggest you follow-up the case you have open with support for this matter.
