Smile ?client=mobile Avalibilty in Open Source Ed.

    I just read this:

    http://www.zimbra.com/blog/archives/...sidebar_1.html

I know this mobile webmail view is not the same as zimbra mobile, which is a native interface to various mobile devices. So, does that mean this is in the open source edition? I just downloaded the open source edition beta2 and it seems to be there.

I love having this in my firefox sidebar!

    Heh-
Glad you like it. We like it too!

So Zimbra Mobile is more than an interface. It has push email, which means that each time you get a message, it sends it to the device.

Mobile Edition is just an HTML client built for mobile devices. There is not push, so in order to see the messages, you have to check them.

The advantage is that you get your calendars, searches, etc on your device (unlike IMAP and POP3 access).

Oh, and yes, it will be in the Open Source Edition
