    Default Can't send messages

I was messing with the trusted networks setting on the MTA tab for the server (trying to troubleshoot something at our remote campus). I reset it back to the original setting (was just blank), but now I can't send email.

The bounce message to the client looks like this:

    Code:
Error: This message could not be sent.

    Subject: Test 4

    To: mike@mikeoliveri.com

Note: Soap Fault. Please recreate and resend the message. Details below:

    Error Code: mail.SEND_ABORTED_ADDRESS_FAILURE
    Error Text: Invalid address: mike@mikeoliveri.com
In /var/log/zimbra.log, I see the following:

    Code:
    Oct 31 10:17:09 mail postfix/smtpd[7775]: NOQUEUE: reject: RCPT from mail.rb60.com[66.99.65.4]: 554 <mike@mikeoliveri.com>: Relay access denied; from=<moliveri@rb60.com> to=<mike@mikeoliveri.com> proto=ESMTP helo=<mail.rb60.com>
I'm using the Outlook Connector. If I try from the webmail client, I get:

    Code:
Message not sent; one or more addresses were not accepted.
    Rejected addresses: mike@mikeoliveri.com
What did I break and how do I fix it? I tried restarting the server after blanking the trusted networks line, and I also did "Reset to Global values" and restarted the server again, but no joy. What am I missing?

    Thanks,
    Mike

I may have just solved my own problem. I kept searching the forum and found a link to the wiki at ZimbraMtaMyNetworks - Zimbra :: Wiki that appeared to apply to my situation.

When I first ran postconf mynetworks, it returned the relay address I had typed in, and the localhost and server IP were not listed. I ran zmprov as follows:

    Code:
    zmprov modifyServer my.server.com zimbraMtaMyNetworks '127.0.0.0/8 my.server.ip.address'
Then ran postfix reload, and I'm back in business. My next question, then, is do I need to add any other networks (I don't have other actual networks that need to relay, just wondering about the rest of my clients). Would the 127.0.0.0/8 and the machine's IP address have been the default setting after the original install?

Also, is this a bug? If I mess with that relay setting in the web admin GUI again, is it going to foul up the mynetworks listing again?

In v5.0.13, I changed the values in Servers-> [Name of myserver] -> MTA -> MTA trusted networks. You can use the wiki entry to verify that you have the right values there.
