    Default for what?

For external authentication? That should work, though I've never set it up. To use it as the main ldap server you'd have to pretty much re-write the installation, which would be quite a task.

Yes, for single sign-on with user's existing ID/password.

I think it could be good if there is post configuration wizard provided for switching the LDAP configuration from Zimbra OpenLDAP to external 3rd party LDAP services (such as change LDAP schema and binding info).

    Thank you.

    Default Ldap configuration

There is just such a wizard in the administrative console, where you can set up external ldap authentication.

This is all covered in the documentation, too.

Default SUSE 10 / Zimbra eDirectory Same server

    Hi

I want to authenticate against on LDAP thing and this should include an active directory tree. I have looked at Fedora Directory server but this is nearly as resource hungry as Zimbra.

So Novell eDirectory looks good, is there any way that I can eun this on SUSE 10 and on the same server as Zimbra.

I guess in the case you can't or don't want to auth against zimbra? You can run another directory you'll just need to offset the ports.

We run eDirectory as the meta directory.
I've configured the client to authenticate users by giving the name and password registered into eDirectory.

With the eDirectory certificate, we are now able to authenticate the users on SSL.

It's very simple to configure if you search on this forum, as I did ...

    Hello,

I'm not sure to have well understood what you did. Maybe you did what I expect to do :

I would like to use Zimbra on a server in a Novell Netware environment, within users are authentified with eDirectory.

The goal is to make users sign one time (to log in their Netware account, and to have access to Zimbra).
The perfect solution would be make Zimbra use eDirectory as its own LDAP directory (as I understood in the Administration documentation : use external LDAP directory).
The other solution is to 'replicate' eDirectory in Zimbra's OpenLDAP and to synchronize them frequently.

    Are thoses solutions possible ?

Thank you, and excuse me for my english
