    Unhappy SASL and domains issue

I have zimbra running for a while with domain jimmy.com (for sake of simplicity). jimmy handles mail for jimmy and all the MTA and advertised names are jimmy.com or mail.jimmy.com .
I recently added a few domains and seeing SASL authentication failing once I try to set them up from outlook. Once I check SMTP authentication required, I get the infinite dialog box asking username/pass and behind the scene trying to authorize and if I do not check the SMTP authentication on outlook, I get 'relay access denied'.
Any easy way to solve this ? I have exhausted the faqs.

Default what version are you running?

What version of zimbra? What have you tried? What's in saslauthd.conf.in under/opt/zimbra/cyrus-sasl/etc?

    Default

    zimbra version 3.01
-I have tried changing the relay host setting to jimmy.com at admin console (mail loops back to myself), disabling dns.
-I tried SASL config file, changing that to http:// instead of the http://jimmy.com/service/soap/
-I browsed the ldap by the slapcat to see if the LDAP attribute for that domain seems strange (looks normal).

    couple things are interesting,

    - I can receive email for all the added domains(in outlook and in web)
    - I can only send for jimmy.com (using outlook)
    - I can send for all the domains to anywhere from the web interface (both from zimbra and another machine in a different IP running ilohamail interface!)

I am wondering whether that is to do with my hostname. other machine where the webmail interface is allowed to work is x.jimmy.com , I have the gut feelings, if I am under anything.jimmy.com I will be fine. other network is causing saslauthd to panic.

    Default sasl

    There is no 3.0.1 released.

What server is the mail store (web server) running on? jimmy.com?

Is it running in http or https mode?

Are there any sasl errors in /var/log/zimbra.log?

"I can only send mail for jimmy.com" - what does that mean? You can only send mail to that domain?

Are the MX records for the added domains pointing to your zimbra server?
