    Default [SOLVED] restricted admin account

    Hi
Does anyone know if its possible to add an account that can reset user passwords and perhaps add users, but not modify server configuration, or easily read users email from the admin console?
Id like to have delegated admin users for day to day tasks like password resets and distribution list maintenance, but not allow them to change global/server configuration.
    Cheers,

    Default oops

Just replying to myself, after loads of searching in the forums I found nothing, and there in the admin console, user properties was a "domain administrator" tickbox, this is exactly what is needed! Hope this may help someone else!

Is this something in all versions? If so, where did you find it at?

If you edit a user in the admin panel, there is a tickbox for "administrator" and "domain administrator" in the ACCOUNT SETUP section, under account status and class of service.

From your first post I gather you are FOSS, delegated admin is a NE feature. Compare ZCS Editions
A domain administrator can create and maintain accounts, aliases, distribution lists, and calendar resources in a specific domain (they can't "view mail" either).
More delegated admin levels/permissions requests can be found in bugzilla.

Yes, we are using the open source version. Thanks for the information. We may go to the network version down the line but for now we are sticking with the open source. Thanks.
