    Default issue with an account

    I have an issue with one of our accounts it has a 4.2 gb mail store and was last accessed at 9:34am yesterday.

    Some time since then the account has ceased to function, if you send email to this account it just bounces back with;

    This is the mail system at host XXXXXXXXX

    I'm sorry to have to inform you that your message could not
    be delivered to one or more recipients. It's attached below.

    For further assistance, please send mail to postmaster.

    If you do so, please include this problem report. You can
    delete your own text from the attached returned message.

    The mail system

    <XXXXXXXX>: host XXXXX[XXXXXXXX] said: 554
    5.0.0 Permanent message delivery failure (in reply to end of DATA command)

    the admin ui states the account is active and I can edit it's settings, but I cannot view or log in to the account using the web ui.

    You might check your /var/log/zimbra.log and/or mail.log files for more detailed information. I find that when I get those unhelpful error messages in a bounce, one of those two logs frequently has a whole bunch of useful detail.

    Since the logs are pretty huge, you might try something like
    tail -1000 /var/log/zimbra.log | grep
    where is substituted with the actual email address that is the problem. If you find anything interesting let us know.
