Default parse error: illegal character '√ƒ' in quoted string

So having moved from 4.5.10 to 5.0 the French people within our company are having a large number of issues with their entourage.

Any folders with french chars in are showing up with dodgy chars in them and giving the error:

"parse error: illegal character '√ƒ' in quoted string

mail could not be received at this time

    Error: 1026"

I've tried changing the char set to UTF-7 in the preferences but this makes no difference, any one got any ideas on how to fix this, I have about 20 users experiencing this issue.

    Regards

This is Bug 23225 - Folder names in non ASCII encoding. We hope to have it fixed in 5.0.1.

In the interim, just copy zimbra-charset.jar to /opt/zimbra/jetty/common/endorsed (you may have to create that directory), make sure it's owned by the zimbra user, and restart the server.

That seems to have sort of fixed the issue, the folder names aren't quite correct but at least the users can now use them...
