    Default Search & Shared Folder

I am currently importing over 200,000 messages into a central Sales inbox. I have shared the "Sales" inbox accross multiple other users, when I do a search from within the "Sales" account I get results, however when I do the same search from a user that has the Sales inbox shared I don't get any results. How long does it take for the index to be updated after a PST import and is there somewhere in the logs I can look to make sure it is happening?

    Thanks,
    Ben

As a follow-up I see in the search options that you can include shared folder, I checked it and now I am getting an error everytime I try to search.

msg: invalid request: malformed item id
    code: service.INVALID_REQUEST
    method: ZmCsfeCommand.prototype.invoke
    detail: soap:Sender

Could this be because I am still running an import on this mailbox?

    Thanks,
    Ben

Ok I am still getting this error on this mailbox. I was able to share a diffrent users mailbox and search it successfully, but once I recreate this share I get the exact same error message. Please help me figure this out, this is a show stopper for my business.

    Thanks,
    Ben

There should be an error in mailbox.log each time you try to search in the shared folder. Can you post that error?

This sounds like a web client bug. Can you please file a new bug in bugzilla against the web client and attach that stack trace?

    Thanks!

Has anyone else seen this error, or can anyone replicate it, I want to make sure it not just me.

    Thanks,
    Ben

I have seen it too, when trying to search through shared Documents with subfolders.

But when I do not select "search through shared" and specify the search query like,
    in:"mydocs" term*
I get, at least no errors in the client, although the subfolders are not searched. I would have to:
    in:"mydocs/sub1" term*
for every subfolder. so not an option.

Is there any progress on that or a bugzilla id?

    tia,
    m

I have figured out what is causing the problem I just havn't figured out how to fix it yet. I am working on a hack that will fix this since the problem isn't even confirmed yet in bugzilla. I'll let you know if I come up with something.

The problem happens because the ID of the shared folders is not being passed in correctly to the search parser. Its passing in 1adfaf-adfadf-werwer:234545 instead it needs to just pass in 234545. Thought I had it fixed onces but that caused all sorts of other problems

    Thanks,
    Ben

I made a fix for it. If someone has an immediate need let me know, its kinda crude but so far its worked.

    Thanks,
    Ben
