Is that error coming from Zimbra? If so try using a user name of <user>@<domain> sometimes certian IMAP clients don't default the domain.

Default Migrating to correct zmbra folder from courier

    Hi,

I am migrating my inbox from a courier imap server (with qmail-ldap) to zimbra. I am able to copy the mail box, but the destination folders in zimbra are wrong. for example see the attached pic.

I am attaching a screenshot to make it clear.

I guess this is not a problem with Zimbra, but a mis configuration of imapsync, I am just looking to see if others got this right?

On a happy note, the labels I have given in thunderbird are successfully imported, i just have to rename them

Looks like the old imap server has a different imap root than zimbra (which has a root of /)

It seems for zimbra all folders are in the root level rather than as subfolder of [INBOX] Any idea how to configure imapcopy not to create subfolders?

    Default CSV files

I am currently using Merak Mail Server and am happy with it. Our company is moving over to SUSE Linux and I am looking to implement PostFix as our mail server. I like the Zimbra interface and functionality and would also like to use it. Couple questions, one can I import .csv files from current email software into Zimbra? Also , is there a way to access current email messages with Zimbra? I am only interested in this to prevent the constant whinning from users which I expect anyway. Ahh!

Any info would be great as I am learning..

Sorry I missed this one. You can import mail with a command line tool like imapsync or a direct inject tool we ship.

    Default moving everything...even accounts?

we are now going to use your zimbra for testing before taking it live. our current mail server is using squirrelmail etc.

you have been discussing mostly moving all the mail over to zimbra from another server, but i would like to move even the accounts?

how do i do that? can i do that, or will i have to sit and create every account over....?

    Default shell scripts

I'm not sure what your accounts are stored in now, but assuming that you can dump them to a text file, you can massage the file so that each line will contain:

    Minimum:
    ca account@domain.com 'password'

    Optionally:
ca account@domain.com 'password' cn "firstname lastname" givenName "firstname" sn "lastname"

If you want aliases, on later lines:
    aaa account@domain.com alias@domain.com

so, you end up with a file like
    ca user1@domain.com user1password
ca user2@domain.com user2password cn "user too" givenName "user" cn "too"
    aaa user2@domain.com usertwo@domain.com

    etc...

    su - zimbra
    zmprov < filename

This will provision all your accounts.
