    Default Can't modify user accounts

Yesterday changed some passwords on the box (root and another local user), changed them back this morning after not being able to modify the structure.

The passwords are put back to what they previously were, however still unable to modify anything as admin. What to do?

    Message: system failure: getDirectContext
    Error code: service.FAILURE
    Method: ZmCsfeCommand.prototype.invoke
    Details:soap:Receiver

I am able to login as admin, but when I attempt to change anything I get the error above.

Changing root & a local user password should have no effect on Zimbra. Do you have Network Edition installed or are you an end (or hosted) user? If you have NE installed in your organisation you can file a support case via the support portal.

We do have Network Edition, however the old support team did not leave the support info behind to login to the portal

I've tried to use zmprov after su zimbra and I get the same results. Is there a way I can test to see if the password is right? Is zimbra still a dir admin or has that gotten erased?

We also changed the admin@zimbra login information for the zimbra console. We changed this back as well.

Which passwords are you talking about? Do you mean the root user of your linux server or some passwords in Zimbra? The correct format of the command to become the zimbra user is 'su - zimbra' - not the extra hyphen, without that the environment doesn't get set correctly.

We changed the local root and local zimbra account passwords. We aditionally changed the zimbra admin user for the admin console. After issues of this not working we changed all 3 back.

This is the error we get:

    zimbra01:/opt/zimbra/bin awdiradmin$ su - zimbra
    Password:
    zimbra01:~ zimbra$ zmprov
    prov> ma username zimbraAccountStatus active
    ERROR: service.FAILURE (system failure: getDirectContext)
    prov>
