    Question Don't want to have alias logins

    Hi folks,

    I've got a question regarding to alias e-mail addresses. Here is what I do.

    mydomain.com = Default Domain

    User: loginname@mydomain.com
    Alias: anothername@mydomain.com

    The problem is that I want the user to login with "loginname", not "anothername". So basically I don't want to have aliases be able to login. Is there a way to achieve that somehow?

    If you are wondering why I want to do that. The login mailaddresses (loginname@mydomain.com) are not used for sending mails at all, just for the login. This is a restriction due to the security. I don't want to have public e-mail addresses which are used to login into any system.

    Thats a pretty good idea, but I dont really know of a way to do that. If you use a distrabution list for each user instead of an alias it may do what you want.

    Thx for your answer. I was thinking about solving it by using distribution lists but the problem is, that you can't choose a distribution list as your return (reply) address within the webinterface. :-/

    Maybe it is possible with aliases anyway?

    I definitely can't. There are just Aliases listed in the users webmail interface at "Preferences -> Account -> From: and Reply-To: "

    There are no distribution lists shown.

    In the drop down box there are only aliases, but with the second box under reply-to I can type in whatever I want.
