Question [SOLVED] set default domain for non-fqdn POP logins

    Hello community,

Let's say my ZCS has been installed with "domain.com" as default domain. My users have a main Zimbra account "firstname.lastname@domain.com". I also configured a "sub.domain.com" domain, and a "alias@sub.domain.com" alias for each user ("alias" is not equal to "firstname.lastname").

The users can use POP with "alias@sub.domain.com" as login. They can also log in with "firstname.lastname". But what I need is a way to use only "alias" as POP login, not "alias@sub.domain.com". Is there a way to set the default domain for non-qualified POP logins ? This protocol can't use VirtualHosts like with HTTP login.

    Olivier

    Default

I'll reply to my own post. Here is what I did to let my POP users log in with their unqualified alias :
    - installed a zimbra-proxy on another server with IP address xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
    - then "zmprov modifyDomain sub.domain.com zimbraVirtualIPAddress xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx" on the main server
Now the users can log in with "alias" instead of "alias@sub.domain.com" if they use the pop proxy which has the IP address xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx.
