I'm preparing for a 4.5.11 to 5.0.6 NE upgrade and am aware of this wiki entry, which outlines a procedure for preparing any LDAP replicas for the upgrade.

It looks like this entry was made at 5.0.2 timeframe, and just want to confirm what's still required for 5.0.6.

We have an ldap master and one ldap replica. As far as I can tell, only step 1 in the procedure is needed anymore:

Stop LDAP, as the zimbra user, type ldap stop
Change directory, type cd /opt/zimbra/openldap/etc/openldap/schema/
As the root user, type mv zimbra/schema zimbra.schema.old
As the root user, type wget http://files.zimbra.com/downloads/5..../zimbra.schema
As the root user, type chown zimbra:zimbra zimbra.schema
As the root user, type chmod 664 zimbra.schema
Restart the server, as the zimbra user, type ldap start

And since 5.0.6, step 2 is not needed.

So, first question: Is this still true that all I need to do is step 1?

Also, in past upgrades, I've always stopped Zimbra on both servers (both are mta's and mailstores as well), and then upgraded the master, started it, and then upgraded the replica, and then started it.

Therefore, I'd like to confirm that this order will work when including the LDAP fix:

1. Perform the LDAP schema change on the replica as outlined in step one of the wiki mentioned above.

2. On the replica: zmcontrol stop

3. On the master: zmcontrol stop

4. On the master: run install.sh as normal, starting services.

5. On the replica: run install.sh as normal, starting services.

Question 2, then: Does this procedure & order look OK?

Thanks for any help I can get here, but I'll put in a ticket if I have to..
