At first I would like to thank you for the great product. And beside that a nice forum+wiki with lots of information.
Now here is my question:
I work at a Hosting company where we Host websites and Mail. On request our costumers can have a Zimbra ran Web mail, since a few months.
We ourselves where already running Zimbra on a local server.
Now we have decided to Migrate the mailboxes from our Local Server to the Server we already have in a Data center for our costumers.
-Local server runs on version Version 4.5.5_GA_838.UBUNTU6
-Data Center runs on version Version 5.0.2_GA_1975.UBUNTU6.NETWORK
I would like to know what the best way would be to migrate all our users, calenders and permissions.. Basically our entire setup.
I have seen others using this method:
1. Create a backup
2 copy backup to other server
3. Restore from backup.
Now does this method also work with different versions? And what about the Host name etc?
