Default how to keep using local mail command

i would keep using local mail but with zimbra it doesn't work; i think it does try to use /etc/alternatives/mta and it points to non-exstent mta; should i adjust it to point to zimbra postfix?

    Code:
    date|mail -v maumar@datalogica.com
postdrop: warning: unable to look up public/pickup: No such file or directory
Mail Delivery Status Report will be mailed to <root>.
    any advice will be helpful

    Default

if rpm -qa|grep postfix reports that postfix exists, remove it, then:

    Code:
    ln -s /opt/zimbra/postfix/sbin/sendmail /etc/alternatives/mta
    ln -s /etc/alternatives/mta /usr/sbin/sendmail
    ln -s /etc/alternatives/mta /usr/lib/sendmail
