    Default Unexpected RHEL Reboot

Early this morning, our ZCS server became unresponsive.

It appears that the services stopped running just after 00:27 this morning, though the server may have tried to reboot at 08:31. The data center rebooted the server around 09:25, and noted that the server was completely powered off and would not respond to the power button. After re-seating power from the dual power supplies for a minute, the server booted normally.

Has anybody seen anything like this before? I will be involving server manufacturer support on this as well, but thought I could check here also.

Here are some pieces of the logs:

Does "2.6.9-42.ELsmp" mean that the kernel forced the shutdown?

    Code:
    [root@mail ~]# last
root pts/1 x.x.x.x Mon Sep 1 09:33 still logged in
    reboot system boot 2.6.9-42.ELsmp Mon Sep 1 08:31 (01:01)
The ZCS status checks run constantly until 00:27:38:

    Code:
    Sep 1 00:26:04 mail sudo: zimbra : TTY=unknown ; PWD=/opt/zimbra ; USER=root ; COMMAND=/opt/zimbra/libexec/zmmailboxdmgr status
    Sep 1 00:26:04 mail sudo: zimbra : TTY=unknown ; PWD=/opt/zimbra ; USER=root ; COMMAND=/opt/zimbra/libexec/zmmtastatus
    Sep 1 00:26:25 mail sudo: zimbra : TTY=unknown ; PWD=/ ; USER=root ; COMMAND=/opt/zimbra/libexec/zmmailboxdmgr status
    Sep 1 00:26:25 mail sudo: zimbra : TTY=unknown ; PWD=/ ; USER=root ; COMMAND=/opt/zimbra/libexec/zmmtastatus
    Sep 1 00:26:25 mail sudo: zimbra : TTY=unknown ; PWD=/ ; USER=root ; COMMAND=/opt/zimbra/libexec/zmmailboxdmgr status
    Sep 1 00:27:38 mail sudo: zimbra : TTY=unknown ; PWD=/ ; USER=root ; COMMAND=/opt/zimbra/libexec/zmmailboxdmgr status
    Sep 1 00:27:38 mail sudo: zimbra : TTY=unknown ; PWD=/ ; USER=root ; COMMAND=/opt/zimbra/libexec/zmmtastatus
    Sep 1 00:27:38 mail sudo: zimbra : TTY=unknown ; PWD=/ ; USER=root ; COMMAND=/opt/zimbra/libexec/zmmailboxdmgr status
    Sep  1 08:32:47 mail sshd[3548]: Server listening on :: port 1892.
Sep 1 08:32:47 mail sshd[3548]: error: Bind to port 1892 on 0.0.0.0 failed: Address already in use.
    Any advice is appreciated.

    Thank you!

    Default

It is probably not going to be possible to see what happened unless you had diskdump installed and setup or you had a console connection to the server during the failure.
I recommend that you install some sort of diskdump utility whether it be local or networked for future.
