    Default Username only Authentication

I searched, but came up empty.

I was wondering if there was a way to have IMAP/POP3 clients be able to authenticate with just their username instead of their whole email address. I can make this work with the web client, but it won't work via IMAP that I can tell. I'm assuming host headers aren't passed when using a mail client, but I just want to make sure I'm not missing something.

AFAIK this only works for users in the domain defined by ldap globalconfig attribute zimbraDefaultDomain

Only time I've had to tell users to specify their domain (AKA instead of me) is when the Zimbra server is hosting multiple domains, or when I've previously added a domain (even if I've subsequently deleted that domain).

I dunno if this helps, just sharing my experience.
