I have recently migrated to Zimbra from an IMail system. One of the features that I am sorely missing is the ability to define Global/Server Wide Filters.
1) Forward a copy of any email sent by firstname.lastname@example.org to this email@example.com (regardless of the recipient of the email)
2) If the to address is in the format firstname.lastname@example.org and subject contains Out of Office then delete it.
All the Zimbra mail filters seem to be account specific and the first rule example is not possible without defining a rule under every account. Furthermore setting the rule on every account won't work if the recipient of the original email is on the distribution list specified creating an infinite mail hop loop. (e.g. email@example.com -> firstname.lastname@example.org -> email@example.com -> firstname.lastname@example.org -> etc etc...)
I realize that the second rule could likely be accomplished by creating a custom SpamAssassin rule - although that seems hackish especially when factoring in whitelisting.
This seems like this may be something that is needed at the postfix level - kind of at the same level as the alias/distribution list mapping side. Either that or maybe there is something that can be done with the amavisd-new.
Does anyone know of filtering tools that work with Zimbra, Postfix, or amavisd-new that are specifically designed to do rules processing and manipuation on inbound email traffic before it gets to the user's mailboxes?
