    Question [SOLVED] Smtp/mta

I asked this before but I got no answer that work, so I'm asking again.

Is there any way to configure Zimbra so it uses another server as SMTP or as MTA (I tried Outgoing SMTP Authentication - Zimbra :: Wiki), because for some reason when I install it on a local machine it deferres the email and it says:

    Connect to 127.0.0.1[127.0.0.1]: connection refused

I tried with another webmail server (Horde) and it worked using the local machine's name not a SMTP server but for some reason it doesn't want to work on Zimbra.

    Any ideas I'll appreciate.

Why are you wanting to use another MTA ? Instead, as I do, setup another MTA on another server and then within the Admin panel set the property for "Relay MTA for External" to be the IP of the server you have just installed. I do this as I wish all incoming/outgoing email to be logged in MailScanner/MailWatch.

Well I tried to use Zimbra MTA but it kept deferring all messages, I don't even know why so I dewcided to try with an external to see if it was matter of DNS or anything like that, but nothing.

I installed DNS server and configured the MX to my local server and it worked, but I still have the question, why without DNS MX entry Horde did work but Zimbra didn't, anyway, it's solved.
