    Default Firefox or Zimbra issue?

If a user cuts and pastes from a word doc into Zimbra Web Client new message, all formatting is lost.

Pasting into IE6, formatting is retained.

Have also confirmed this behavior under Linux with Firefox using OpenOffice as the source for the cut and paste.

FWIW, it doesn't keep the formatting when pasting into Safari either.

I presume you're dropping it into an HTML email because the copy/paste from a formatted word file into FF3.03 & FF3.1 certainly works for me with a new window for composing.

    BTW, that's with Zimbra 5.0.10

I've tried using both 5.0.8 and 5.0.10 and copying from OOo and MS Word 07 and it doesn't keep the formatting. I do have HTML formatting turned on in the message. I've tried in a new window and not new window. If it makes a difference, I'm on OS X. Word is running on WINE.. so that might be a problem, but it doesn't work from OOo either.

I'm afraid I don't have access to a MAC to test that. I have used word documents and OO documents to past into FF without problems (under Linux & Windows XP & Vista). What sort of formatting are you having problems with, anything particular? Are you likely to have any browser add-on that may cause this problem?

Well, I'm not sure about the OP.. I just kinda jumped in and tested it. Looks like the OP is using Windows. It's not keeping the size of the font for sure. I also am running IE6 in WINE and it's working just fine to copy-paste into while keeping the formatting.

I actually have a fresh install of Firefox 3.0.3. I have no "Extensions" installed. The only plugins I have are the Flip4Mac, Java Embedding, Quicktime, and Shockwave plugins.

Yes I left out a few details.

Zimbra version is as it appears in my profile.

Client system is Windows 2000 all patches applied.
    Firefox 3.0.3.
    MS Office 97 all patches.

    or

Client system is Open SuSE 10.3
    OpenOffice version 2.3.0
    Firefox 3.0.3

Neither will accept copy paste fomatiing into Zimbra web client html enabled docked or undocked.

WINE NOT involved, all native applications.
Text formatting is simply ignored in html mode in Firefox in these two cases.

Firefox has no plugins installed other than default stuff. Try underlining and bold as well, they will get dropped, not just font size.
