Default [SOLVED] Recover of single user mail

Hi, there is a way to recover a single mail "accidentally" deleted from a user? (from zimbra backup or from a full file system copy)

I needed to do this recently...
    - we use FOSS
    - restored backup to temporary directory
    - grep'd words from the subject line of the email (or body)
    - sent .msg file found from grep to the user

so there isn't a way to "pull" the message back in user mailbox?

What version of ZCS are you using ?
    Code:
    su - zimbra
    zmcontrol -v
If you are using the NE version you could restore the individual mailbox to a different account name and then just forward the missing email to the original user.
    Code:
    su - zimbra

zmrestore -ca -a account@company.com -pre restore

the resulting mailbox would then be called restoreaccount@company.com

Do, please, post the full output of the command that you've been asked to run.

yes but how to restore a backup version of the filesystem without couse trouble to other users? i think that zmrestore need the full zimbra filesystem in the "correct" path; non only a copy in a restore dir... or not?

This was useful to know. I would like to add that instead of forwarding the missing email, you can share the mailbox where it's located with the original account and then drag/drop the mail. Benefit is that all the characteristics of the original mail are preserved.

Also, for those who shy away from the command line, the NE administration GUI's restore feature includes the prefix option (i.e., same as using -pre above).

As already asked are you running the FOSS or NE version of ZCS ? In your original post you say "from zimbra backup" which would imply you are running NE ?
