Default [SOLVED] Can't Access Admin Console

    Hey all,

This morning when I got to the office, Firefox had died on me and upon reloading it, I can't get to the Admin Console. I tried from different machine and it can't access it either. I'm receiving and sending mail fine, all services are running, I've perused log files and I can't find anything that would suggest why I can't get there today and I could yesterday. This is a stable box that's been running solid for months. The only thing that I could find in the forums related to new installs. Any suggestions? Tell me what you want me to post and I'll put it up from your enjoyment...

    TIA,

    m

What message do you get when you try to open the Admin UI? What's in the log files? Does it work with any other browser, have you cleared the browser cache?
    Regards

The message that I received is : Cannot connect. Not very informative, is it? I get approximately the same response from IE on the same machine or a different machine. Its the same with FF on both machines.

Yes, I've already cleared the cache, cookies, etc. on both but it had no effect. And yes, I'm using https & port 7071 - and this is only on the LAN, not WAN so it doesn't involve firewalls or port blocking. As I mentioned before, everything has been working fine until yesterday morning. FF dying was only an after effect and probably no way involved with the admin console disappearing as I get the same response on different machines.

As I mentioned, I did look through the log files, but I didn't see anything out of the ordinary as I compared entries from (now) 48 hours ago to 24 hours ago. Is there one particular log file I should inspect more closely? I mean, there are only over a dozen there and I have a lot of things on my plate so I can't be spending the entire day reading log files...

Again, I would think that there would be something obvious in one of the logs - just which one would have it? And the link that you sent me pertains to 4.5.x installs - I'm running 5.0.8. Any difference in log files/locations/names between the two major versions?

    Thanks for the suggestions...

That's the whole problem... I can't connect Either browser (FF or IE) on either machine (two separate machines) replies (in fashion or another): Can not connect.

Okay, so open a command prompt and try telneting to port 7071 on your ZCS server and see if you get anything back. On the server itself does netstat -an | grep 7071 show anything ?

I tried both of those, too. Telnet to the machine can not connect and netstat shows nothing.

I read through all the previous threads, tried all those suggestions and it didn't get me any where. That's why I posted, I just couldn't figure it out, I couldn't see anything obvious in the logs (unless there is a specific log file I need to read more closely) and it has positively stumped me.

    Any other suggestions?

Well you can check in /var/log/zimbra.log and under /opt/zimbra/logs. Try grepping for error
