spam - ham training
Sorry if this is posted before.
My server has been active now for 4 days after the old one crashed.
We knew that it would crash so we had the zimbra server ready for replacing it.
The results of the zimbra server where notoriosly better than the old server.
Faster mail delivering, less spam, easy administration, happy clients, etc.
I checked the spam account and I noticed that the only spam in this account is a mail marked spam manually by a user. Almost every user has spam in their spam folder but the spam account is empty, so is the ham account.
Is this normal?? Can it be configurated to deliver all spam to the spam account for easly rescue the fasle positive spam.
I believe if the email is in the Junk folder then the message will have already been learnt by SpamAssassin. The user is in the best place to determine if it is a FP or not, so if they unjunk that message it will then be re-learnt as HAM.
I agree in hat the users are in the best place to determine if it is an false positive or not.
My problem is that 80% of my users uses outlook with pop3 and have no access to webmail by firm policy.
Someone know a way to change this?????
Well with POP your only method would be to forward the spam emails as attachments to the email@example.com.
You can rename this account if needed:
zmprov renameAccount firstname.lastname@example.org email@example.com
zmprov ma zimbraSpamIsSpamAccount: firstname.lastname@example.org
Spam/Ham might be to common (and get abused by the wrong people) so we append a random string to the account name - might use like email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org etc.

Using imap for the spam account is an option but changing 600 users from pop to imap is not the optimal solution I'm looking for.
Is there anyway I can forward the spam message automatically to spam account??
then from my outlook with the imap spam account, I could save the false positive.
Viking0: What version of Zimbra are you using? Use "zmcontrol -v" and post the output in your profile.
I think mmorse is right, if the mail is already delivered, you'll have to forward the message to the spam acocunt. I'd really look at changing over to using imap. It will save your users from having to forward emails to the spam account for training purposes. Drop the "bad" message in the user's own junk folder and it'll send to the filter automatically with the next "send/receive".
