on 5.0.11? I think this is the problem
Bug 33604 – Server Status Error

You can do a zmloggerctrl stop and then kill all the zombie loggers and then start it up again

I would just like to add that in my case, I was getting an error which said /tmp/zimbra/mysql.server.lock could not be found.

The fix was simple:
Code:
su - zimbra
mkdir /tmp/zimbra

The issue they were resolving was to do with the server backend and not the Zimbra Desktop Client.

thanks

I understood that it had to do with the database management
I guess my question was : how to interact with the database backend when running it in windows?

for exemple how to check if it is running by another mean than the task manager

and how to debug it etc...

the log themselves refer a flurry of threads but it is very difficult to understand how to interact with these function from windows...

thank you for all help there

The simple answer is, you don't. This thread is about the Zimbra Collaboration Suite mail server and not Zimbra Desktop - your question about Zimbra Desktop is not relevant in this thread.

thank you again for your quick reply

do you mean that :
a) there is no direct access to the database when running Zimbra Desktop on a Windows machine (even for debugging purpose)
or
b) my post was wrongly placed

by the way after a numerous reboot and a couple reinstallation the problem (system Failure: getting database logger connection ) finally decide to go away on its own...

also please accept my apologies for potentially making an error in my posting I was under the impression that the database management was similar across the various zimbra email software

The answer to that would depend on whether you were using ZImbra Collaboration Suite. As you were talking about Windows I made the (possibly wrong?) assumption you question was about Zimbra Desktop. If it was about ZD then the answer is b).

If you do have a Zimbra server then please update your forum profile with the output of the following command )if you don't then ignore this):

Code:
zmcontrol -v

No, it isn't and this question was about the Logger function of ZCS. The database in Zimbra Desktop is local to you and stored on your PC in the ZD folders and there's no ability to manipulate it.
