Exclamation LDAP Search and Modify ???

    Hi all,
May I Please know that from which file the following command displays the information.
    ldapsearch -x -h zimbra.domain.com -p 389 -D 'uid=admin,ou=people,dc=domain,dc=com' -W password -b "dc=domain,dc=com"

Moreover to modify some of the entries i enter the proper command but following error is given,

    modifying entry "uid=adeel3,ou=people,dc=domain,dc=com"
    ldap_modify: Insufficient access (50)
How can I give the access to the admin so that he can modify the entries

    Regards

ldap is a database it's not coming from a file. well, it is a file but it's a database file.

anyway, you need to bind as

    uid=zimbra,cn=admins,cn=zimbra

    to make changes

You should really use /opt/zimbra/bin/zmprov to modify account attributes instead of trying to edit them directly with ldapmodify.

Specifically zmprov help account will give you the various commands that are available.

You can create a zimbra account that has admin access via
    Code:
zmprov ca myNewAdmin@domain.tld password123 zimbraIsAdminAccount TRUE

    Exclamation LDAP and files.ldif/

    Previously,
The LDAP server (Sun java Directory Server) has a file in which all the attributes were listed for the users.

I have a strong feeling the zimbra ldap works in the same fashion,

BTW thanks for the help provided earlier, how ever it had not worked as I am receiving the error of incorrect password this time instead of insufficient privileged.

    Regards
    Adeel
