Default lost a message after moving in webclient - strange names appearing also?

    Hi,

I have been working with Zimbra for about week now or so and so far email migration went really well. Everything is in and working.

I recieved an email today and after replying to it I moved it to the folder that it's meant to be in using the web mail system. The only issue is that the mail itself doesn't seem to be anywhere or at least not showing itself.

This is what the mailbox.log file shows in /opt/zimbra/log:

    Code:

I'm not sure if it decided to delete it or if actually it is around somewhere?

I have had this problem previously with Postfix MTA when using it as solo in conjuction with Courier-IMAP/POP and Squirrelmail and Horde3......

Really I don't know if I should reboot Zimbra or the machine, if the mail will pop up. In Postfix sometimes the system used to tag emails as deleted but then untag them later on a system reload or other circumstance.

I mean I thought that if things where deleted by default they would go into the Trash folder only nothing's showing!

Also I don't know why but in the Webmail my from field as some very strange people associated with an email that was sent by a totally different party.

Like if I sent out a whole bunch of mails in one evening, the replies seem to be tagged with more then one persons name and I can't understand that?

I don't know if I am being clear enough with this second issue but if anybody wants to request a screenshot to better understand the situation I can provide, however it's certainly puzzling me!

[edit]Maybe if I describe it like: I send out a bunch of emails to a, b, and c recipients. In the webmail from field as part of the reply I get from: a, b, c even though they are seperate entities and seperate emails?? And have absolutely nothing to do with each other!

Many thanks for any responses on my 2 issues!!

    Re-index mailbox ?
What do you mean? Sorry am still a newbie, I'm guessing you mean as said run a command that re-indexes the mailbox sort of like running update on an indexed file system then running locate command?

If that's what you mean then I'm looking into it, sorry if I sound a bit off but I'm in the middle of studying for so many exams currently my brain is on overload!

Actuallay after google'ing around a bit just now I got this:

    http://www.zimbra.com/forums/adminis...mailboxes.html

which had this little script in it:

    Code:
    for i in `zmprov gaa -s <mailbox_server_name>`
    do
    echo "reindexing $i"
    zmprov rim $i start
    done
However that seems to be for all users. For just me do I use:

    Code:
    zmprov rim user
    ???

Don't know if anyone has any other ideas?

It's been ages and still the message isn't showing, even with the logs above claiming that it was put into the desired folder?

I used Epiphany browser which isn't supported so I don't know if that could be a reason, but I'd really just like to find out where that email went more then anything else so I can recover it and restore it as it was quite important.

Any replies would be awsome at this point!

have you looked to see if the message is in your mailstore just no associated metadata?
