Default 32-bit ZM server to 64-bit ZM server migration

    Hey everyone,

I am planning my eventual migration from a physical 32-bit server running Zimbra 5 FOSS to a different physical 64-bit server running Zimbra 6 FOSS.

I have found some possible ways forward that I will need to test; however, I thought it would be worth checking if anyone has experience with such a migration and see if there is a recommend procedure.

Details are probably not pertinent, but here they are:

Users: ~50 / Mail Volume for # of users: Very high

    Current Machine:
    Ubuntu 6.06 LTS (x86 - 32-bit)
Zimbra Release 5.0.6_GA_2313.UBUNTU6 UBUNTU6 FOSS edition
    Pentium 4 @ 3.6 GHz / 4 GB DDRII / [x2 - SW RAID1] 250 GB SATA

    New Server:
    Ubuntu 8.04 LTS (x86_64 - 64-bit)
    Future Zimbra Release 6
    Phenom II X4 @ 3.0 GHz / 8 GB DDRII / [x4 - SW RAID10] 1 TB SATA

Moving ZCS to New Server - Zimbra :: Wiki
I've done this on NE from Ubuntu 6.06 32-bit to RH 5.3 64-bit with no issues other than distribution lists not moving for some reason.

For FOSS, take a look at:

yeah the 2 wiki articles abbout moving servers helped me do this once. don't know if you meant it like this with your old and new server config but i don't think you could jump from 5.x to 6.0 while moving. you'd need to move to the new server as the same version you're currently running, then do an upgrade on the new server.
