    Default zimbra startup

    hi, i'm using zimbra FOSS 5.0.16 Opensuse10.2.

can someone point me to where zimbra is started from boot?

i'd like to add one of my scripts to the end to make /var/log/* chmod 777 so i can access it over the windows network for checks.

at the moment i've done it on a crontab 2am (as i reboot the machine after a 00:00 backup).

    thanks

    Neil

The easiest thing to do would be to access the logs via Webmin, why don't you install that?

Just an FYI - there will be no supported openSUSE version of Zimbra provided after the 5.x series so you might want to consider another distribution.

thanks for the advice about version 6 of zimbra....

when that times come, i assume i'll make another server but how will i migrate data from my opensuse10.2 to the other?

IMAP springs to mind, but not sure how thats gonna pan out with address books and documents etc.

yes i share the /var/log as log$ and access it UNC style

    whats the webadmin?

    do you mean the https://.....:7071?

    thanks

Webmin is a web server that install on your serverl, it has tools to manage the server via a browser - have a look at the web site in the link I gave you earlier.
Zimbra 6 releas is not that far away: Zimbra Product Portal - when you're ready to migrate then have a look in the wiki at some of the migration articles (there's also some in the forums and blog).
