    Question Zimbra Spam from Self

    Folks; a lil bit confused

    A lot of my users are complaining about receiving SPAM from them selves; is there anything i can do to either track or resolve this issue?

    ie: user email address is: however they also receive spam from : // which hinders me from forwarding the messages on to the Spam/Ham training folders….

    anhy help/advice/guidance would be much appreciated!

    It's called backscatter or NDR spam, search the forums for the word 'backscatter' and you'll find some solutions. You should also look at the wiki article on improving the anti-spam on your system.

    It may not be backscatter; some spammers forge your address when sending to you. I wouldn't worry about classifying it as spam. Mail that's really from your users gets big negative scores for being from a trusted source. If they use mail clients (not ZWC) from outside your network you'll want to modify the config to treat authenticated mail as trusted. I posted about this a few weeks ago.
