    Question Some questions and issues about Mailman+Zimbra integration

    I am following the [SOLVED] Zimbra + Mailman Howto thread. (http://www.zimbra.com/forums/adminis...man-howto.html)

    I have some doubts and problems, so I can not continue with the integration

    ______________
    FIRST
    Add following lines at the end of /usr/local/mailman/Mailman/mm_cfg.py file.

    My code:

    MTA = 'Postfix'
    POSTFIX_ALIAS_CMD = '/opt/zimbra/postfix/sbin/postalias'
    POSTFIX_MAP_CMD = '/opt/zimbra/postfix/sbin/postmap'
    IMAGE_LOGOS = '/mmimages/'
    DEFAULT_URL_PATTERN = 'https://%s:7780/mailman/' # I don't know if https is correct here, but I have zimbra working on https!!!! Is it correct????
    POSTFIX_STYLE_VIRTUAL_DOMAINS = [ 'my_virtual_domain.com' ]

    ______________
    SECOND:
    Now add your first list on virtual domain.

    My code:

    # As root
    # first add a sitewide list called mailman, this is mandatory

    root@torino:/usr/local/mailman# bin/newlist mailman
    Indique la direccin de correo de la persona que gestionar la lista: my_acount@my_virtual_domain.com
    Clave inicial de mailman:
    Presione el retorno de carro para notificar al propietario de la lista mailman...

    So.. should I receive notification to my email acount?? No email was received.!!!

    ...

    THEN:

    root@torino:/usr/local/mailman# chown mailman:mailman /usr/local/mailman/data/virtual-mailman*

    chown: no se puede acceder a «/usr/local/mailman/data/virtual-mailman*»: No existe el fichero ó directorio (unreachable - The file or directory does not exist)!!!

    ____________

    Can you help me out with these issues?

    Thanks!!

    Hello Actano:

    I think that the major problem with the howto you are following, what by the way I have contributed and used on my own server, is that the howto is based on Zimbra 4.5 release.

    When I upgraded the server to zimbra 5, mailman integration stopped working (I don't care because I don't use it anymore).

    I will check if can make it work again on 5.0 before I switch to 6.

    If I see something, i will tell you.

    I also have an issue with my Zimbra+mailman. After I change mail gateway to send out email, some notice virus email send to list without my permission.

    Thanks gunvier for your replied.
    Right.. I have installed zimbra 6, so if possible that the howto I am following works on Zimbra 4.5 release but not on 6 version.

    I hope you can find a solution!
    thanks again!
    bye.

    Code:
    su - zimbra
    zmprov gs `zmhostname` | grep zimbraMail.*Port
    Then you should know on which port zimbra listens. If you didn't change the port and zimbra only listens on https, then you shouldn't need to add the port explicitly

    maybe, because mailman is not running until now? Simply start it with the init script

    THEN:

    root@torino:/usr/local/mailman# chown mailman:mailman /usr/local/mailman/data/virtual-mailman*

    chown: no se puede acceder a «/usr/local/mailman/data/virtual-mailman*»: No existe el fichero ó directorio (unreachable - The file or directory does not exist)!!!
    do these directorys even exist? maybe you should look where they are on your system.

    Did follow the tutorial more or less with my zbs 6.0.1 installation since i'm using another apache on the same server
    for hosting other sites and zimbra listens on another http port, so i didn't need to compile mailman by myself.
    installing mailman via package management and deleting the startup script for "normal" postfix did it for me.
    configuration for zimbra postfix (via zmprov so changes stay after restart) and mailman has to be adapted to the
    directorys used in the corresponding distribution, but then it works like a charm.

    No.. on my systemn theses directories or files («/virtual-mailman*) don't exist anywhere. So I cant continue with the installation.
    I don't have another apache on the system (only zmapache). I followed all spteps of how-to.. but not works.

    thanks for your replied. I took note about your installation.
    bye.
