Thanks! How would I go about actually adding those attributes? Is that a zmprov thing...?

EDIT : Stupid question, never mind, I figured that out.

(For the sake of anyone reading this, the correct answer was - zmprov ms mail.domain.com [attribute] [value])

Great, that's a lot closer! But now the mta won't start, complaining about zmsaslauthdctl not being started

Had to make sure that the following settings were good in /opt/zimbra/cyrus-sasl/etc/saslauthd.conf.

    ------------
    zimbra_url: http://mail.xxxx.com/service/soap/
    zimbra_cert_file: /opt/zimbra/conf/smtpd.crt
    zimbra_cert_check: off
    --------------

For me, zimbra_url was blank. I filled it out and every time I restarted it squashed my change. Someone suggested changing it in /opt/zimbra/cyrus-sasl/etc/saslauthd.conf.in so that may change didn't get squashed. So far so good. If I have any other problems related to this, I'll post what happened. I think the moral of the story is...

IF YOU'RE USING 4.0.x DON'T CHANGE YOUR SERVER NAME!!!!!!!!!!!

    zmsetservername is no help!

Can you please take some time to file a bug with what went wrong and how you worked around it (play by play?)

    Thanks.

    Thumbs up Works in 4.5.3

I just changed my hostname on Zimbra 4.5.3 and RHEL 4.4AS.

    1. Update DNS server
    2. Edit /etc/sysconfig/network
    3. su - zimbra -c /opt/zimbra/libexec/zmsetservername new.name.com
    4. Reboot

The only "problem" I see is in the Admin UI, if you look at server status the new name is listed, but the old server name is also listed with a red X on everything except for the blue check marks next to LDAP and Logger. However, that all went away after a couple minutes. There must be a cronjob that updates a status log.
