It doesn't sound like you tried the --authmech1/--authmech2 PLAIN suggestion, I suspect both are zimbra servers so you could also zmprov ms `zmhostname` zimbraImapCleartextLoginEnabled TRUE or go with --ssl1/ssl2

Your imap command should look like this

    Code:
    imapsync --host1 server1.tm.local --user1 pawan@tm.local --password1 123456 --authmech1 PLAIN --ssl1 --port1 993 --host2 server2.tm.local --user2 pawan@tm.local --password1 123456 --authmech2 PLAIN --ssl2 --port2 993
Login without using IMAPS is disabled by default, so --noauthmd5 would not work either.

Try the above command if you can't change the Auth Settings as being desribed by Mike or dalmate.

    Hi linuxguru,

it would be good to complete your profile with your Zimbra version etc. Do a "zmcontrol -v" to get the proper information. Otherwise it will be a lot of guesswork to answer your questions.

Just be "root" to use imapsync or as root issue "chown zimbra /opt/zimbra". This should do. For some unknown reason the zimbra user doesn't have write access to it own home directory. Maybe this will be changend in future releases.
