    Default DSPAM Issue

    I upgraded from 5.0.6 (?) to 6.0.2 the other day.

    Most things are working just dandy, but I am having some issues with DSPAM.

    When I turn it on pretty much everything goes straight to the spam folder. Here is a sample header from an inbound email to me from my gmail account:

    X-DSPAM-Result: Spam
    X-DSPAM-Class: Spam
    X-DSPAM-Confidence: 0.99
    X-DSPAM-Probability: 1.0000
    X-DSPAM-Signature: N/A
    X-Virus-Scanned: amavisd-new at mail.xxxx.com
    X-Spam-Flag: YES
    X-Spam-Score: 8.702
    X-Spam-Level: ********
    X-Spam-Status: Yes, score=8.702 tagged_above=-10 required=6.6
    tests=[AWL=1.300, BAYES_00=-2.599, HTML_MESSAGE=0.001,
    DSPAM:Spam=10.000] autolearn=ham

    With it turned off from the same gmail account:

    X-Virus-Scanned: amavisd-new at mail.wbhcp.com
    X-Spam-Flag: NO
    X-Spam-Score: -1.262
    X-Spam-Level:
    X-Spam-Status: No, score=-1.262 tagged_above=-10 required=6.6
    tests=[AWL=1.336, BAYES_00=-2.599, HTML_MESSAGE=0.001] autolearn=ham

    I'm clueless as to why it's so automatic in instantly classifying all email as spam but am wondering if it is because the DSPAM is now 'untrained', the old dspam db is messed up or something else is going on.

    I read this blog post the other day and am hoping someone who is knowledgeable about DSPAM can tell me what they think of the author's idea:

    Improving spam filtering on Zimbra 5.x with DSpam | Bart Verwilst a.k.a Bort :: w3bl0g

    I know that DSPAM is no longer enabled automatically due to performance issues in large installations of zimbra but my site has less than 200 users so I'm hoping that will not be a big issue. I do get a significantly higher amount of spam making it to user's mailboxes so I would really like to get it turned back on if possible.

    Thanks In Advance!

    Posting this possible solution to multiple threads...hope it helps someone.

    Enabling DSpam in Zimbra 6 Open Source Edition | slashdevslashnull.com

    Suspecting an issue with the DSpam DB, im not sure if this was left over from my previous playing or whether its like this out of the box, but clearing the DB solved the issue:

    Code:
    root@mambo:~# rm -rf /opt/zimbra/data/dspam/data/z/i/zimbra/
    root@mambo:~# su - zimbra
    zimbra@mambo:~$ zmcontrol stop; zmcontrol start

    Apologies for cross-posting again. I'd suggest that further discussion go to http://www.zimbra.com/forums/adminis...ing-dspam.html, and that's where I'm posting another suggestion.
