Default [SOLVED] ldaomodify hangs after entering password

I upgraded from 5.0.x some time ago to my current version(6.0.1_GA_1816.UBUNTU8_64 FOSS).

I am currently following the info at Adding ldap indices 6.0 - Zimbra :: Wiki

I am attempting to add Samba/POSIX to my zimbra install. I was able to convert my samba.schema to ldif and get it installed and get the ldap up. I had issues with the stock nis.ldif not loading, so I converted the nis.schema in that directory using the same instructions for the samba.schema => ldif.

    My LDAP now starts fine.

When I issue the "ldapmodify -x -H ldapi:/// -D cn=config -W" shown in the documentation, I am immediately prompted for my ldap password. I enter it and then it just sits there, seemingly forever.

    Anyone have any ideas?

ehh, wow... huge derp guys. You just type in there and hit control-D. I had edited the slapd.conf.in before and expected something like that.

After entering passwprd it expects you to give input to ldapmodify for full dn entry

Yeah, I figured that out after more carefully scrutinizing the docs. I was looking at a POSIX/SAMBA tutorial on the wiki and hadn't edited the ldap in 6.0.

    Thanks!
