yeah, we have used Maia Mailguard in the past for this:
AboutMaia ? Maia Mailguard ? Trac
    which does essentially this.
There are other alternatives out there now though - amavisd-new has had an SQL interface for sometime.

Yeah just been looking at the schema and not sure whether it holds all the header information; which would be required really for generating a RBL.

    Hi all,

I am pretty much attracted from the idea of a "own" RBL. Although the problem of data handling, distribution and protection against attackers should not be underestimated, that main problem of a "good" RBL is a good source of information about the current spam situation in the internet (who is a spammer and who is not...)

I am not really sure, if Zimbra/Vmware is the right company to collect and distribute information about spammers.

There are probably a lot of Zimbra users and Hosting Partners in this forum. I would guess, most of them have a considerable flow of email every day. This is probably a much better data source, that Zimbra/Vmware could provide...

Why not create a RBL that is fed by the Zimbra community...

    Just my 2 cents...

    Regards
    Thomas

Thomas, I *really* agree with you. My idea was to feed from the community installations where NE or FOSS. The reconciliation has to happen somewhere and I guess VMware has that sort of bandwidth. Like all ideas it may never happen though as a community we may be able to do something ourselves.
