    Default Where are user Contacts/Address Books stored?

    Hi everyone,

    I am having a terrible time finding where a users Address Book is stored. I'm pretty sure it's in the MySQL database rather than in LDAP, but I cannot find it.

    I am using 5.0.16 and trying to access the contacts from within MySQL.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you,
    Michael

    Entries of type 6 in table mail_item from database mboxgroupXX are address books entries. To find your mailbox id, see Account mailbox database structure - Zimbra :: Wiki.

    Sample query for mailbox id 25

    Code:
    select * from mboxgroup25.mail_item where type = '6' and mailbox_id = '25';
    This is for Zimbra 6.0, but I think it works also for 5.0.

    Thanks!

    Is there a mapping somewhere that tells what the type's are? 6=contact, what others are there?

    Also, any tips on how to decode the metadata for a contact? It's all jumbled together and I don't see any real field-delimiters.

    Are there any zimbra-provided command-line utilities that make accessing the address books any easier?

    Thanks again,
    Michael
