Default issues after upgrade 5.0.12 -> 6.0.6 on Ubuntu

    Hi all,
zimbra 5.0.12 worked well one year, but after upgrade to 6.0.6 I have these issues:
I write all these issues since I don't know if there are connected.

    1. ldap can not start
    Code:
    zimbra@zimbra:~$ ldap start
    /opt/zimbra/bin/ldap: line 57: kill: (9274) - No such process
    /opt/zimbra/bin/ldap: line 57: kill: (9354) - No such process
    /opt/zimbra/bin/ldap: line 57: kill: (9360) - No such process
    /opt/zimbra/bin/ldap: line 57: kill: (9366) - No such process
    /opt/zimbra/bin/ldap: line 57: kill: (9372) - No such process
    /opt/zimbra/bin/ldap: line 57: kill: (9378) - No such process
    /opt/zimbra/bin/ldap: line 57: kill: (9384) - No such process
Failed to start slapd. Attempting debug start to determine error.
daemon: bind(7) failed errno=98 (Address already in use)
    slap_open_listener: failed on ldap://zimbra.mydomain.com:389
(i replaced real domain here with zimbra.mydomain.com)

I folowed suggestions from this forum, checked /etc/hosts, hostname `hosts`... I prepared split domain setup. But still doesn't work.

I find that I have to comment these line in /opt/zimbra/libexec/zmslapd
    Code:
    #export LD_PRELOAD=/opt/zimbra/tcmalloc/lib/libtcmalloc_minimal.so
After that ldap started to work. But this is probably not right solution. Is this bug in zimbra?

    Code:
    zimbra@zimbra:~$ ldap start
    Started slapd: pid 17992

    2. Zimbra server statistic does not show any information
    (screenshot added in attachment)

    Thank you for help!

    On more issue:
    3. status page does not show running services
I can't see if services are running, but zmcontrol status command works:

    Code:
    zimbra@zimbra:~$ zmcontrol status
    Host zimbra.mydomain.com
    	antispam Running
    	antivirus Running
    	ldap Running
    	logger Running
    	mailbox Running
    	mta Running
    	snmp Running
    	stats Running

Do u have more than one mailbox servers and one of them is running logger?

this could be logging issue.. Either logs are not forwarded to logger server or something wrong with your syslog.

I have second zimbra server. It's ldap only.

As I remember, after upgrade status page was ok, but statistics wasn't. I founded here in forums hint: install rsyslog and run zmfixperms as a root. So I did, but It does not helps and since this fix status page does not show correctly info. So I uninstall rsyslog, install syslog but without change.

If I run zmfixperms as root I see that /opt/zimbra owns root:root. Zimbra user can not create files in /opt/zimbra (eg. .bash_history). Is this ok?

Try to run this as root
    /opt/zimbra/bin/zmsyslogsetup
    it will reconfigure your syslog.conf

    and restart syslog after that

    /etc/init.d/sysklogd restart

wait a few minutes, refresh status page.

    hope this help.

for the stats problem, most of the time it's permission issue

    to solve:

    change permission
    chown -R zimbra:zimbra /opt/zimbra/zmstat

    restart statistic service

    su zimbra
    zmstatctl stop
    zmstatctl start

sugiggs thank's for help! Unfortunately, it does not work.

Everything is the same like before. I'll wait, maybe statistics need more time.
