One of my users had an issue that he could no more retrieve messages through the POP protocol. I analyzed the situation and found the faulty message. Also, the mailbox.log tells that there are index errors for this account. So, I moved the wrong message to a separate folder and I was able to retrieve all messages again. - However, I need to ensure the server is fine and I ran a reindex for the account. The user interface quickly confirms reindex being completed. The mailbox.log however shows the following:
"mailbox - Background reindexing failed for Mailbox 8665 reindexing will not be completed. The mailbox must be manually reindexed"
I also ran "zmprov rim email@example.com start" from the command line with the same result. I noticed that this error is consistent for all accounts I tested.
This occurs on ZIMBRA 5.0.18
