Does anyone have an idea of what may be happening? I can post snippets of any log files as well. I can almost always get all of our deferred email instantly delivered with a manual flush. When we receive our outages, webmail cannot be accessed and mail clients can't connect. We can still SSH to the server. Thanks.

In the zimbra.log, we are seeing this when we experience our outage. Could this be a certificate issue?

    Jan 19 15:03:29 mail2 saslauthd[7863]: authentication against url 'https://XXX.com:7071/service/admin/soap/' caused error 'curl_easy_perform: error(28): SSL connection timeout'

Jan 19 15:03:29 mail2 saslauthd[7863]: url 'https://XXX.com:7071/service/admin/soap/' will not be used for (at least) 600 seconds

    Jan 19 15:03:29 mail2 saslauthd[7863]: Authentication cycle re-elected url https://XXX.com:7071/service/admin/soap/, giving up ...

This is our saslauthd.conf file, does this look OK? XXX is our server name. Also, the smtpd.crt expired close to a year ago. If that is a problem, it's odd we didn't experience any issues until now. Does it matter that it's expired? Thanks.

    Default Certs

Just a status update: I issued new certs and applied them, it did nothing to help our problem.

Let's check your DNS & hosts file set-up, go to the Split DNS article and run all the commands in the 'Verify...' section and post the output here.
    Regards

You missed out the contents of the hosts file. You're also using the wrong domain name (you're actually using a sub-domain) for that server, you should be using:

    Code:
    dig billionauto.com mx
The "billionauto.com" would be the domain name.

I'm also concerned that the highlighted entries above look incorrect to me, why do they have a different hostname (are they really on a different host)? You need to post the output of the hosts file and you should not hide the IP address (it's needed to confirm you have the records set correctly) in that or the DNS output.
    Regards

    Bill

Your hosts file is incorrect, the following line:

    Code:
    127.0.0.1 localhost
    should look like this:

    Code:
    127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost
    You need to fix that.

Just for my own curiosity, why do you have three A & MX records (all with the same priority) pointing to the same server?
    Regards

    Bill

Thanks again Bill. Are you able to explain how the hosts file change could potentially resolve our issue? The A & MX records, I guess, haven't been cleaned up after doing different migrations. We aren't too sure why things are this way but we can certainly tidy this up and remove the unnecessary entries.

We are still experiencing our issues, to keep this thread updated.

It shouldn't cause you any problems as they all point to the same server, I was just curious.
Yep, we did make that hosts file change. Thanks.
