ZCS upgrade from 6.0.10 to 7.0.0 will be performed.
ERROR: Unable to reach the Zimbra License Activation Server.

License Activation is required when upgrading to ZCS 7 or later.

The ZCS Network upgrade will automatically attempt to activate the
current license as long as the activation server can be contacted.

You can obtain a manual activation key and re-run the upgrade
by specifying the -a activation.xml option.

A manual license activation key can be obtained by either visiting
the Zimbra support portal or contacting Zimbra support or sales.

-I do have a call into support and sales, but figured some of you early adopters may have a solution and/or pointers.

I'm having the same issue. Been unable to contact the activation server for over 24 hours now, and still unable to upgrade. Very frustrating.

We had to push our upgrade further from our schedule. Telnet to the licensing server is fine. I do understand a server will have to go down due to various inevitable reasons but one that serves a purpose like this shouldn't.

Performed an upgrade with './install.sh --skip-activation-check'. I had my old license file in /opt/zimbra/conf/ZCSLicense.xml and went ahead ignoring the warnings. After the upgrade I had to upload my license file again and update manually.

Since I was performing an upgrade from 6.x to 7.1.1 support coudn't help me with an activation key.
