Default [SOLVED] user migration (zimbra to zimbra)

    Hey all

Finally, I found out that (on EC2 environment) it's easier to install another zimbra server and then perform user migration from old-server to new-server by command utility:

    /opt/zimbra/bin/zmmailbox -z -m $USERNAME getRestURL "//?fmt=tgz" > /backup/accounts/$USERNAME.tgz

Well, this only works for a small number of user, but at least it works for me

however, zmmailbox doesn't export password does it???
I successfully exported everything, but password. I ended up changing password on the new-server to log in (per account).

Any more hint about migrating password?
    many thanks!

Right, that will not migrate passwords or settings (like signatures, user preferences, filters, etc.)

You can get the encrypted password with:

    zmprov -l ga user@domain.com userPassword

and then on the new server use

    zmprov ma user@domain.com userPassword <encryptedpassword>

    to set the password

    ah thanks!!
    Code:
    # name username@domain.com
    userPassword: {SSHA}HWh4gJcupL+rRQHcrIuYqwxpLhLoh0wM
I assumed the the encrypted one is " HWh4gJcupL+rRQHcrIuYqwxpLhLoh0wM
". Therefore, over the new server, i should input

    zmprov ma user@domain.com userPassword HWh4gJcupL+rRQHcrIuYqwxpLhLoh0wM

    is that correct?
PS: will have to wait another week to test this as system is running

    Copy everything, including the {SSHA}..

    So it would be

    zmprov ma user@domain.com userPassword {SSHA}HWh4gJcupL+rRQHcrIuYqwxpLhLoh0wM

I followed all the steps, which are very clear at all, but can't migrate the password. Is it a version specific solution or some other special notation marks, syntax should be taken? My version is OS 6.0.10 .

    Thanks

    Hi,
I am running zimbra OSE 7.1.0 and I would like to backup my accounts.
But when I try this command :
    /opt/zimbra/bin/zmmailbox -z -m user@domain.com getRestURL '//?fmt=tgz' > /tmp/user@domain.com.tgz
It backup something but nothing useful in the tgz file...
Something changed since zcs 7 ?
    Can you help me ?
