    Default Forced URL rewrite

I have Zimbra running on a server called saladin which has a cname record of mail. When accessing it as mail.example.com it works well, but when addressed as saladin.example.com it breaks with SSL as the certificate is only for mail.example.com.

In my previous setup I just configured Apache to use URL Rewrite and forced all connections to be rewritten to https://mail.example.com/ but I cannot find anywhere to set this in Zimbra.

PS. For those who wonder why use "example.com" it is because I do not wish to be made a complete fool of my superior on his many googles of our domain name... :-)

You should not use a CNAME record for your mail server, it should be an MX & A record that point to your server.

What do you mean by "it breaks"?

I know, but it's both a little too late for that, and the server is already running another service with old and unfortunate, but still very strict, name rules.

SSL "breaks" since it's issued for the mail.example.com instead of the hostname.
