    Default Shutting off email service

    Good morning,

After over two years of using Zimbra our district is moving to Google Apps for Edu (beyond my control).

I would like to keep the Zimbra server up and running so users can still log in and see their old email (we did not migrate), contacts, briefcase, etc, but stop the email service so they can't send/receive anything locally or send anything remote.

We had our MX records changed last night, but noticed people can still send/receive local email and still send to remote.

Is there a zm command line to do this or is there something in the GUI?

    Thanks for your time,

    Jim Bureau

I don't know any built-in function to do that, but it might be enough to set a 1 byte message size limit. That way, no message will be allowed to pass (unless its size is lesser than 1 byte, which is impossible ).

To do that run the following commands as the Zimbra user:
    zmprov mcf zimbraMtaMaxMessageSize 1
    postfix reload
Mind that this is a 'dirty' workaround, so use it at your own risk

Have a nice day (and please try to come back to the bright side)
