Default Mail traffic reported is not as actual

    Dear all,

In my zimbra 7.1.1 OpenSource edition on Ubuntu 10.04 server, we have 500 users who mostly send mail to our internal users and some of our users will send mail to other domains. Yesterday I received the daily mail admin report that the total transaction was 18GB.

The actual words in that mail was,

    5082m bytes received
    13953m bytes delivered

We had restricted our mail attachment size as 6MB for every user. As per our calculation the total sent and received mails should not go beyond 2 GB.

But I am surpurised that by seeing 18GB. Is that real or there any problem in our mail server.

Each message is calculated multiple times due the mail routing, depending on how it traverses in the server.

That causes weird numbers on mail reports, both message count and bytes transferred.
